WELCOME to Pleasant Valley Horse Club!

Located in the beautiful California hills of Santa Cruz County near Monterey Bay, surrounded by apple orchards, vineyards, and coastal redwoods, we are a family owned and operated business teaching equestrian skills to children and adults. Whether it is your child's first ride, or you are getting back in the saddle for the first time in several years, you will find our programs promote a strong, solid foundation in horsemanship for any rider.

Kayla has a passion for animals and horses particular. She has developed a level of patience and trust that most her age do not have. She has a great work ethic, which has been acquired at PVHC due to caring for the horses and the smaller children she has been in charge of. She really is a responsible 14 year old and I am very proud of how she has grown. I believe that spending her time working hard and playing hard at the PVHC ranch has kept her on track in school and in life. I see her always having horses and animals as part of her life.

Horseback Riding Lessons

Horseback Riding Lessons

Pleasant Valley Horse Club emphasizes a balanced seat with self carriage by both horse and rider, achieving harmony, balance and unity. Our gentle approach teaches students to understand horses and develop educated, compassionate equine values as horsemen.

What I learned from PVHC is from instructors like Michelle, teaching me how to jump English and doing Western Pleasure. I learned how to make new friends like Jenna and Kiana. I learned how other horses are when I ride them, and learned how I became an advanced rider. I am having a lot of fun at PVHC and I am learning new and great things. I love PVHC!!!

Daily and Weekly Camps

Daily and Weekly Camps

Our horse camp caters to beginner, intermediate and advanced riders. Campers will participate in a variety of activities: daily horse lessons in the arena, daily trail ride, equine education time, rescue horse care (the kids get to help care for one of our most recent rescue horses), swimming, obstacle courses, target practice, and crafts.

I think the boys have gained self confidence through learning to give direction to these impressive animals. They are always excited to spend time with Michelle, all the leaders and of course the horses. I love that most of Michelle’s horses are rescues. She and her staff truly love horses and now my boys do, too.
